Role
- As a Project Portfolio Analyst, you’ll support the CTO by gathering, analyzing, and reporting on data for our project portfolio.
- This role is essential in helping our organization align projects with strategic goals, efficiently allocate resources, and track project health and performance.
Responsibilities
- Data Collection & Analysis
- Collect, organize, and analyze data on active and planned projects, including budgets, timelines, resources, and risk metrics.
- Maintain and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for each project, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular and ad hoc reports that provide a snapshot of project performance, resource utilization, and portfolio health.
- Resource & Capacity Tracking
- Assist in tracking resource allocations across projects to ensure optimal utilization.
- Identify potential over-allocation or under-utilization and provide insights to aid in resource planning.
- Collaborate with Account and Technical/Creative Managers to assess resource needs and resolve any conflicts.
- Support for Project Decision-Making
- Provide data-driven recommendations to the CTO regarding project prioritization, resource allocation, and potential impacts on strategic goals.
- Support the CTO in evaluating projects’ alignment with business objectives, offering insights on performance against strategic KPIs.
- Project Control Support
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, and milestones, ensuring adherence to planned targets.
- Work closely with the Account Managers to track variances and help identify corrective actions as needed.
- Continuous Improvement & Process Support
- Assist in refining and optimizing reporting processes to ensure data accuracy, clarity, and relevance.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in project portfolio management and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information System, Information Technology, or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in project management, data analysis, or a related role (internship experience considered).
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Google Sheets, or other data analysis tools.
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g. Jira, Basecamp, or Teamwork) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey data-driven insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
