Challenges: How to Enhance Public Accessibility to Services of PPID PT PP?
PT PP is a leading state-owned enterprise specializing in construction, including building, infrastructure, EPC, plant, and equipment services. This company is also actively involved in investment across infrastructure, property, and energy sectors. To enhance public accessibility to its service, PT PP recognized the need to develop the PPID (Pejabat Pengelola Informasi Dokumentasi) application. This initiative aimed to provide seamless access to information previously available on their website (https://ppid.ptpp.co.id/id). In other words, users would be able to access the same information by using the mobile application. Hence, PT PP sought to implement technical improvements to the system and website content, facilitating better user experience and creating a more accessible platform tailored to the users’ needs.
Previously, PT PP relied on a website that limited the accessibility of its services, particularly for users who required efficiency in accessing, reporting, and monitoring submissions. Recognizing that users demanded a mobile solution, PT PP collaborated with Suitmedia to develop a dedicated mobile application that would improve user experience significantly and ensure transparency.
Furthermore, the main objective of this project was to provide content and information services that are standardized, transparent, manageable, and aligned with stakeholders' expectations. By focusing on both content and technical improvements for better performance, the new mobile application would derive user satisfaction, enabling users to understand how to use the application effectively.
Solutions: Developing a Responsive and Accessible Mobile Application for Better User Experience
Our strategy focused on developing iOS and Android applications, designed with visually appealing interfaces and user-friendly features, ensuring a seamless user experience. In short, users would not encounter any issues while accessing the application.
The development process commenced with a requirement gathering and analysis to thoroughly understand the specific needs. The insights obtained during this phase were fundamental to creating a sitemap and design prototypes. To develop the application, we utilized PHP and Laravel as the framework. We also used MySQL to store and manage data, considering its reliability, scalability, performance, and ease of use. Additionally, we utilized Flutter for cross-platform app development across both iOS and Android.
The unique aspect of this project was its accessibility, enabling users to access information conveniently, submit requests, ask questions, and raise objections directly from their smartphones. By focusing on comprehensive accessibility through a mobile-first approach while also emphasizing transparency, the project has resulted in a more transparent and responsive mobile application.
Results: A User-Friendly Mobile App that Improve Accessibility and Transparency for Public Information
Our efforts in developing mobile applications for PT PP yielded successful results since the new platforms eventually enhanced accessibility and efficiency. Both iOS and Android applications enabled users to view, monitor, and submit reports directly to PT PP. Moreover, the successful completion of this project met the expectations of PT PP’s teams, highlighting the digital innovation related to accessibility and transparency for public information.
The representative of PT PP stated, “Suitmedia assisted PT PP in improving the PPID PT PP website and developing mobile applications based on our request, facilitating better access to information disclosure, which impacts our company's branding. Overall, we are satisfied with the services provided and look forward to collaborating with Suitmedia on future improvements that drive positive outcomes.”
