Challenges: How to Improve Customers’ Online Banking Experience through Mobile App?

AEON Credit Card is a VISA credit card issued by AEON Credit Service Indonesia, a consumer financing company. To enhance the user experience, AEON desired to develop a mobile application that enables users to manage credit card transactions easily and provides easier access to other AEON Credit Card services.

Previously, the company had developed AEON Fast, a multipurpose financing application. However, the application had limited functionality, particularly for accessing credit cards on smartphones. Although users had already registered, they were unable to apply for credit cards through the application. In other words, they were required to visit the nearest office. Additionally, some negative comments were left on the reviews, complaining about the application, the company’s services, and its policies. They mentioned several aspects that needed improvement, such as non-functional features, poor user experience, and UI issues.

Hence, the primary objective of this project was to develop a more user-friendly AEON application by simplifying the user journey, updating the design, and introducing a feature that enables users to apply for a credit card digitally. By addressing the challenges above regarding the application limitations, AEON aimed to create a more comprehensive and seamless mobile banking experience for customers. 

Solutions: Enhancing Functionality for Better User Experience

Our strategy incorporated significant improvements for the design by establishing a clearer information architecture, which was illustrated through a mobile map. Also, we planned to update the information display, layout, and visual elements to deliver an intuitive, enjoyable, and engaging experience for users. The features were developed and tailored to meet user needs, taking into account their functionality and usability.

Moreover, the front-end development began with a thorough analysis of the user flow and the creation of wireframes using Figma. The next step was creating a design based on SwiftUI. The development process implemented a modular architecture using SwiftUI for interface components, aiming to simplify the transaction flows and improve user experience. After development, the application was tested before being deployed to the App Store through TestFlight, ensuring responsiveness that aligned with user expectations.

The AEON Credit Card on iOS offered an integrated solution, combining consumer finance and credit card management services within a single platform. Designed with a SwiftUI interface, the application had better performance and ease of use. In addition, in-app features allowed users to apply for cards using eKTP, manage transactions easily, and access reward systems, resulting in a more efficient and intuitive mobile banking experience.

Results: A User-Centered Application that Integrated Consumer Financing and Credit Card Services

Suitmedia successfully assisted AEON in developing the AEON Card application for iOS, presenting a modern design with an intuitive interface based on SwiftUI. The new application featured user-friendly interfaces, seamlessly integrating consumer financing and credit card services to provide users with convenience on a secure and efficient platform.
