Challenge: To synergize trading activity across Pesantren in Indonesia

Tamam is established to answer the need of e-commerce who adapts halal value chain in every business aspect. Taman is a virtual market place (e-commerce) synergizing trading activity across Pesantren (Islamic boarding school) in Indonesia. The existence of, hopefully, can raise the sharia economy of Pesantren and Indonesia as well.

There are concerns for customers who use e-commerce services, particularly from Islamic communities in Indonesia, both from sharia and security perspective.   • Quantitative Market Research (In-depth User Interview)

In-depth interview is qualitative research technique that involves conducting intensive individual interviews with a small number of respondents to explore their perspective on a particular idea, program, or situation. For, in-depth user interview is conducted to know user’s behavior on business and their reaction towards business in digital platform.

  • Requirement Analysis & UI/ UX Design

Analyzing project requirement is important to keep in line with the need on the business. Based on the previous findings, user needs are analyzed to formulate software/system requirements, thus resulting application that caters to the objectives of the business set forth.

As for UX & UI Design, we design the system’s flow (user’s flow when using the system) and system’s user interface from low fidelity (mockup prototype) to high fidelity (UI, or User Interface Design). We make simple and dynamic structure menus for better website navigation; thus, user won’t find difficulty in using the website. The responsive design also helps user to access the website through a smartphone. website structure also allows accepting development in a larger market area.

As mentioned before, some customers have concerns on online transactions, the first is the medium of internet network transaction and the second medium of payment by credit card. Regarding these concerns, we make the buying process in compliance with sharia law, such as transaction in truthful manner, clarity in communication and avoiding interest (riba). All transactions in are well recorded for the seller and buyer convenience.

Inquiry and RFQ (Request for Quotation) become the most highlighted features in which supports bulk buying. The inquiry and RFQ processes are done through a messaging feature, then continued to response/evaluation and transaction features. The latest RFQ feature will show the newest necessity from the seller which can be seen in homepage.

  • Brand development is built to improve the Sharia economy in Indonesia and to facilitate Pesantren building network through digital media. Based on the missions, we need Tamam to be truthful, simple & comfortable, quick, and helpful. Looking at the values, we decided to make a brilliant brand name that able to resonate with customers and to act as a mark of trust. Tamam means perfect or complete. A name that contains positive elements, without any negative element inside it. Tamam brings positive vibes into Pesantren virtual market through trading activities in sharia way. In visual identity, we make Tamam’s logo by following logo trends that mostly used by Islamic institutions, Islamic shape, and Islamic calligraphy. Then, shape constancy is conducted to be in line with logomark, then formed a unique character.

Result: An e-commerce that suits people needs across communities

First of all, our intention in building is to improve the national economics of Indonesia through the development of sharia economy. Looking at the economic potential of Pesantren, is built to improve the sharia economy in Indonesia as well as developed economic networks via digital media.
