Challenges: Transforming Skorku into a Scalable B2C Credit Information Platform

Credit Bureau Indonesia (CBI) is a nationally recognized credit bureau that gathers and evaluates credit data to financial institutions and other approved stakeholders for both individuals and companies. Currently, CBI uses a mobile application called Skorku to assist its digital services. It was first created to help its B2B partners with credit-related requirements. Skorku is anticipated to develop into a more complete platform that caters to a larger public audience by providing easily accessible credit score reports and other services in line with CBI's expanding business strategy as the company broadens its market reach from B2B to B2C.

Despite its potential, Skorku presently faces a number of obstacles that restrict its efficacy for wider user adoption. The current application was developed using an antiquated legacy backend, which lowers performance stability and makes it more difficult to add new features.  The current user journey is long, unintuitive, and not optimized for B2C users, resulting in friction, user drop-offs, and poor overall experience. Skorku will not be able to support CBI's market expansion without a full front-end and back-end redesign, which will make it challenging to provide quick access to credit scores, enable new service offerings, and compete in the consumer-focused financial technology industry.

In order to overcome these obstacles, CBI demands that the Skorku application be completely rebuilt, backed by an updated backend architecture and a revised user experience. The strategy focuses on streamlining the user experience, improving the UI to showcase a new, approachable, and reliable visual identity, and developing a cleaner, more intuitive UX that is suited to B2C activity. A new backend will guarantee quicker, safer, and more dependable performance, and new B2C-focused features will be incorporated to support CBI's expanded offerings. By using this strategy, the redesigned Skorku app will enable users to swiftly and easily create credit score reports, establishing CBI as a pioneer in customer-friendly credit information services.

Solutions: Modernizing Skorku Through Advanced Technology Integration

Suitmedia and CBI implemented the strategy by developing the Skorku 2.0 application, which is more reliable and updated in terms of both frontend and backend. We enhanced the UI/UX to make it much more user-friendly and also updated the technology stack to be more up-to-date and stable. Skorku 2.0 also uses many integrations to help create a more seamless user experience (EKYC, OCR).

During this process, Suitmedia used the 4D framework. We first assisted in mapping the client's requirement papers during the Define phase. Next, we examined the current MDashboard code and rebuilt it with improved features. In order to enable users to register and more precisely verify their data, we also connected with numerous third-party systems, including EKY + OCR and Advance AI for registration. Additionally, we linked Skorku 2.0 with Mastercard to offer the Dark Web Monitoring service, which allows consumers to determine whether their personal information has been exploited.

The USP of the Skorku 2.0 application is that it delivers a seamless experience for B2B audiences to register independently using the e-KYC and OCR functionalities. Users can also purchase comprehensive Skorku reports or standard reports, which are free, by submitting a request to pick up the report directly at the CBI office for standard reports. Clients can access detailed reports immediately within the program. The application accepts a number of payment methods, including debit and credit cards, QR codes, and transfer payments.

Results: Proven Results from Skorku 2.0 Application Development

As a result, CBI delivered a seamless experience for B2B audiences to register independently using the e-KYC and OCR functionalities. CBI experienced significant growth in user acquisition. During the period from August 28 to December 9, the application recorded a total of 107,000 downloads across both Android and iOS platforms. This strong performance demonstrates the effectiveness of the Skorku 2.0 application development, which was strategically designed and successfully delivered by Suitmedia. The achievement underscores the platform’s ability to meet user needs while supporting CBI’s broader digital growth objectives.
