Challenges: Loyalty & Connect to Wearable Device Enhancement and Feature for A Better Healthcare Accessibility 

EMC Hospital is a private healthcare facility affiliated with the EMTEK Group. EMC Hospital has collaborated with Suitmedia on a previous project, the development of its website. Building upon this partnership, EMC has embarked on a new endeavor to enhance its mobile application. This initiative aims to improve the user experience by redesigning the UI of the "my healthy access" menu and integrating features for patient journey management. In addition, EMC seeks to elevate user engagement by incorporating loyalty program features, enabling connectivity with wearable devices, and delivering personalized experiences based on health data. The ultimate goal is to encourage healthy lifestyle adoption and strengthen user interaction through EMC’s digital ecosystem.

Key additions include online appointment booking, telehealth services, and access to digital publications such as e-magazines and e-brochures. The project encompasses several objectives:

  1. Addressing prolonged loading times in the "my healthy access" menu.
  2. Enhancing the visibility of visit data within the menu.
  3. Providing comprehensive patient information.
  4. Enabling seamless navigation to medical records from patient details.
  5. Integrating payment data for inpatient services.
  6. Implementing a real-time patient journey feature, allowing patients to monitor their queue position (5 ahead or 5 behind) in real time.

To remain competitive in the evolving digital healthcare landscape, EMC recognizes the importance of integrating loyalty features and wearable connectivity into its mobile application. Without these enhancements, EMC faces several challenges that could hinder user experience and business growth, including low user engagement due to a lack of interactive features, limited personalization of digital health services, missed opportunities to promote healthier lifestyles, and a weakened position in the digital healthcare market.

In response, EMC has outlined key objectives for this initiative: to increase user engagement by incorporating loyalty program features and interactive health tracking through wearable devices; to deliver personalized experiences by leveraging real-time health data; and to strengthen EMC’s digital ecosystem by unifying health and loyalty functionalities within a single, seamless application. These strategic improvements are designed to enhance the app’s value proposition, foster healthier behaviors, and position EMC as a leader in digital health innovation.

Solutions: A Series of Comprehensive Enhancements to Facilitate Streamlined Interaction
 

After comprehending EMC Hospital's requirements, Suitmedia offered a solution to enhance EMC's mobile application. This involved a thorough redesign, feature integration, and system updates. The enhancements introduced by Suitmedia are aimed at facilitating seamless access to the "my healthy access" menu, ensuring that users can effortlessly navigate through essential functions and information. The integration of real-time monitoring capabilities for queue conditions adds a layer of convenience and efficiency for users, empowering them to stay informed about current wait times and streamline their interactions with the app.

Moreover, to address EMC's challenges in the digital health industry, the strategy involved developing APIs for seamless integration with various wearable brands, ensuring real-time synchronization, and creating interactive health data dashboards. An activity-based loyalty program rewarded users for health-related activities, enhancing engagement. Implementation began with user research to identify needs, followed by designing and testing an intuitive app interface. Connection features to wearable devices and loyalty programs were then developed and refined through a soft launch before a full rollout. The project’s unique value lies in integrating personalized digital health features with wearable devices and activity-based loyalty programs, offering a functional yet engaging experience that motivates users to lead healthier lives.

Results: A More Seamless and Efficient Healthcare Experience for EMC Hospital Patients

The implementation of Suitmedia's solution has significantly enhanced the EMC Mobile App's functionality and user experience, particularly through the integration of wearable devices and loyalty programs, as well as the "My Healthy Access" menu and patient journey feature. These improvements have created a more engaging platform that encourages users to actively utilize the app in supporting a healthy lifestyle. As a result, EMC has strengthened its position as a modern, user-friendly digital health service provider. The app’s success is reflected in its impressive performance, with total downloads reaching 53,258 (iOS: 16,275; Android: 36,983) and high user ratings—4.9 on iOS (348 reviews) and 5.0 on Android (840 reviews) as of April 5, 2025.
